Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Opinion-Talk: behave, keep your own copies, expect nothing to be guaranteed. Last updated 9 September 2026.

Accepting these terms

Creating an account or using Opinion-Talk means you accept these terms and the Community Rules, which are part of them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

Service provider and contact

Opinion-Talk is an independent project run by Nicolas Unica, based in Madrid, Spain. The service contact is NicolasUnica@proton.me.

Who can have an account

The service is intended for people aged 16 or over. One person, one account. New accounts are made by signing in with Google. Do not use the service if you are under that age or cannot lawfully agree to these terms.

Your account is yours to look after

You are responsible for everything posted from your account. Do not share your Google login. If you think someone else is inside it, secure your Google account and write to NicolasUnica@proton.me. Accounts are secured through Google.

What you post stays yours

You keep every right you already held over the opinions and replies you post. By posting them you give Opinion-Talk permission to store them and show them to other users of the site. That is what the permission is for, and it is the only way a post reaches anyone.

It ends when you delete the content or the account. Copies can survive briefly in backups, and anything another person screenshotted or saved is beyond anyone’s reach.

What you must not do

Everything in the Community Rules. On top of that: do not scrape or bulk-download the site, do not automate posting or voting, do not work around rate limits, security rules or another account’s privacy setting, and do not attack the service or the systems behind it.

Deleting your account

You can stop using the site whenever you like. Settings has a permanent Delete account control. It removes your account, profile, opinions, replies, votes, follows, blocks, reports, bookmarks and notifications. A protected Gmail identifier remains only to stop that same mailbox creating another account. There is no undo.

Removing content and closing accounts

Content that breaks these terms, the Community Rules or the law can be removed, and accounts can be restricted or closed, with notice where that is reasonable and without it where someone is at risk. Access also ends if the project itself shuts down.

Moderation is reviewed by a person. When a restriction, removal or account action is taken, the affected user will receive the reason, scope, duration where relevant, and available appeal route unless giving that information would be unlawful or create a serious safety or security risk.

Notice, appeal and redress

Use Report on the relevant account or content, or send NicolasUnica@proton.me the link, a clear explanation and any supporting information, to report suspected illegal content or a breach of these terms. Reports and appeals are considered diligently, consistently and without automated-only decisions.

If your content or account is restricted, you may appeal free of charge within six months of the decision by writing to NicolasUnica@proton.me. The response will state the outcome and reasons. Where applicable, you may also use an EU-certified out-of-court dispute-settlement body or other legal remedies.

Copyright complaints

If something here copies your work, email NicolasUnica@proton.me with a link to it, a description of the work you own, and how to reach you. Verified complaints are acted on quickly, and accounts that keep infringing are closed. Complaints filed falsely to silence someone are treated as abuse of the process.

Free, as it stands, no promises

Opinion-Talk is free and offered as it is. Nothing guarantees that it stays available, that your data survives, or that it works without faults, and features can change or disappear at any time. Keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose.

No advertising or recommender system

Opinion-Talk has no advertising, no targeted advertising and no recommender system. The main feed is chronological. There is no paid ranking or promoted content.

Limits of responsibility

Opinion-Talk is not responsible for what other people post, for what you do with what you read here, or for indirect losses such as lost data, lost time or lost income. Nothing in this paragraph removes a right the law gives you and does not let you sign away.

The law that applies

The consumer and data-protection law of the country you live in applies whatever else these terms say, and you can always bring a claim before the courts there. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable where you are, the rest still stands.

Changes

These terms can change. The date at the top says when they last did, and anything that materially affects you is announced on the site before it takes effect. Using Opinion-Talk after that means you accept the new version.
